Steps
1 Duplicate and print out at least 3 copies
of the postcard image onto photo paper. Depending on how much margin
your printer requires, you should be able to fit one or two full
sized images and some cropped partials on one standard 8-1/2 x
11 sheet of paper. You will only need one full image; the rest
need only be portions of the complete card (see Fig. 1) Be sure
all the images you print are scaled at 100 percent. Let ink dry,
then spray with protectant if desired.
2 Carefully cut out one complete postcard image
and set aside. Cut remaining parts of postcards into elements as
shown in Fig. 1.
3 Using glue stick or adhesive of your choice,
center and mount the complete postcard onto teal paper, leaving
at least1/2” border all around. Center and mount this to
the front of the card. Use pinking edger to cut 3/4” wide
strips of swirled green paper.Arrange strips to border the mounted
postcard as shown. Adhere and trim to match card front size.

4 Position and attach the largest
of the trimmed elements onto the card front using adhesive foam.
Mount icicle elements next, trimming the adhesive foam as necessary
to give support without showing in delicate areas.
5 If you’re using the optional glitter
glue, apply it generously to the ice and snow areas of the elements,
including those already mounted to the card that won’t be
covered by the next layer. Set aside to dry, which may take several
hours or overnight.
6 Mount the bird and holly elements to the card
front, using doubled adhesive foam to make them higher than the
other elements. |
