Steps
1 In Photoshop or your image manipulation software, save a copy
of image 021 as a
layered file and activate the background layer. Isolate the border
oval from the rest of the
postcard and rotate it 90° counterclockwise. Remove the image
inside the oval. Copy “A
Merry Christmas” from image 007 and place inside oval border.
Adjust and clean up to
finish the oval motif and save a copy for this and future projects.
2 Scale 007 image to 185% and the border motif you created at
100% and print them
out. Let ink dry, then spray with protectant if desired.
3 Trim rectangle of embossed scrapbook paper to fit card front
and adhere using glue
stick or photo stickers. Using deckle edgers, remove 1/2” from
bottom edge of card
front.
4 Carefully cut out the holly motif as shown (ending with the
leaves at right edge) using
an X-acto knife. Position on card front, note location, then open
card and place holly face
down against inside of card front flap in the same position you
had on the outside of the
card. Lightly mark along lower edge of stem with pencil for cutting
guide. Set holly aside
and remove an arc-shaped portion of the card front using scissors
or X-acto knife. Erase
remaining pencil marks.
5 Position and attach holly to the card front using photo stickers
(trimmed if needed) so
they don’t show through cutout areas. If necessary, carefully
trim away more of the card
front between holly leaves.
6 Carefully cut out oval border motif using small sharp scissors.
Affix to inside of card at
lower right-hand corner.
7 Apply red glitter glue to holly berries and allow to dry for
several hours or overnight. |
